Lutheran Downtown Hospital, part of the Lutheran Health Network, located on the southwest corner of Main and Van Buren, is a 60-bed acute care hospital opened for patient care in November of 2021. The decision to build an advanced, vibrant facility, which is being constructed across the street from the existing hospital, aligns with Lutheran Health Network's goals to stay downtown and remain an active participant in its success.
The planned size of the facility reflects the growth in services being offered in outpatient settings as medical technologies advance. The facility was built with space to accommodate future growth to more than 100 beds, based on the community's needs.
Lutheran Downtown Hospital includes a 19-bed Emergency Department, operating suites, two gastroenterology suites, imaging services, robotic-assisted surgery, and laboratory services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
- Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
- Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in an automatic processor.
- Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
- Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Licensure:
- Current IN State Board of Health Certification as a Radiologic Technologist
- Registered by the ARRT
- BCLS within 30 days of hire
- MRI Board Certification preferred
Experience:
- MRI experience preferred
Education:
- Completion of a recognized School of Radiology
