Position Summary:
- A Kinship Family Support Navigator engages relative and non-relative caregivers by delivering family support services. This individual involves a broad range of training and development activities, assessment services, and consultation abilities. The position requires quality documentation of services provided.
Job Duties:
- Engage with relative and non-relative caregivers and introduce the Kinship program.
- Contact families by phone or face-to-face within 48 business hours of referral to KinCare services.
- Educate families and community partners about Kinship Services and legal assistance available.
- Maintain quality documentation and tracking of families served.
- Maintain continuous, timely contact attempts with all families on an active caseload utilizing home visits, office visits, phone contact, or other correspondence.
- Assist families with purchasing required items or household accommodations.
- Support children living with relative caregivers to remain outside of foster care.
- Coordinate and communicate with staff delivering Navigation services to families.
- Advocate for Kinship Program and services (i.e., identify challenges and solutions within the program; participate in any project, team, or peer activities as directed; act as a positive representative for the program, etc.).
- Meet with the program manager weekly for supervision, to review work with families, training, professional development, program development, etc.
- Participate in quality reviews of program services, outcomes, and records.
- Assists with the development and coordination of support groups for participants.
- Other related duties as assigned.

- Regular and predictable attendance, and promptness for work.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, or related field from an accredited university required.
- One year of experience working in social services, education, or related field required.
- Three years of experience working with children and families preferred.
- Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of kinship care (personal or professional) preferred.
- Knowledge of child abuse or neglect reporting procedures and methods.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid work environment (in office and/or remote as directed).
- Laptop, iPad, and company-issued cell phone.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to drive a personal vehicle for business needs.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
