- Assist in implementing, organizing, and planning activity programs.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted American traditional holidays and celebrations that will be included in year-round activities.
- Decorate common areas based on appropriate events and celebrations.
- Maintain bulletin boards and monthly calendar displays.
- Lead physical exercise/stimulation times for residents showing good judgment in the use of audio and visual stimulating accompaniment.
- Observe, record, and report resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that activities and resident progress may be evaluated.
- Encourage resident participation.
- Consistently demonstrate respect for authority and resident’s rights.
- Deliver and read mail to residents as needed.
- Maintain Activity areas in a clean and orderly manner as well as Activity supplies.
- Transport residents to events within the facility in a safe manner following facility guidelines.
- Attends mandatory in-services. Obtains the state required in-services per year.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long-term care facility in a similar capacity is preferred but not required.
- CNA and/or CPR certification preferred
- Maintain valid driver’s license.
- Willing to work overtime, on weekends, and in other positions when necessary.
- May be required to work during crisis situations such as hurricanes, floods, etc.
