Must-Have :
- Knowledge of medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, observation techniques, reporting and recording
- Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and its application
- Ability to maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors, and co-workers
- Ability to meet the needs of the elderly
- Awareness of cost containment, utilization of time, and proper care for equipment
- Good communication and observation skills
Job Description :
Operate under the direction of the RN Supervisor to carry out medical plans and oversee Nursing Assistants' care of residentsAdminister and record medication, treatments, and monitoring, such as glucose checks, as orderedAccurately transcribe physician's orders and complete monthly summaries as scheduledReview care plans with Nursing Assistants and update care plans as neededNotify the RN Supervisor of significant changes in residents' conditionsReport and record changes in resident conditionsCommunicate resident transfers to immediate family and department headsAssist physicians with rounds, examinations, and treatments as neededCollect laboratory specimens and arrange for delivery, document related activitiesSupervise and assist with post-mortem procedures and notify department heads of a resident's deathEncourage resident participation in scheduled activitiesAssist with annual evaluations of nursing assistants and write commendations and counseling records as neededComplete incident reports and document weights and vital signs with follow-upsMaintain work area cleanliness, safety, and conditions conducive to a healthy environmentConduct team conferences and ensure staff familiarity with policy changesMonitor NA documentation compliance and collect data for quality assurance studiesProvide direct care for residents as needed, within restrictionsSeek clarification or guidance to perform job responsibilities when in doubtDocument drug disposal on resident chartsAttend in-services, department, staff, and committee meetings as requiredAssist CNAs on the hall as neededDress Code :
