You will be responsible for:
- Financial Strategy and Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s mission, vision and values. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO, executive team and Board of Directors based on sound financial modeling, analysis and projections. Provide an innovative approach to system and processes for continuous improvements.
- Budgeting and Financial Planning: Oversee the preparation and management of annual budgets and long-term financial plans. Ensure accurate forecasting, monitoring, and reporting of financial performance against budget and strategic goals.
- Financial Management and Oversight: Oversee the management of all financial functions, including gift accounting, financial accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and investment management. Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory financial reporting requirements, and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring adequate internal controls and risk management policies are in place. Oversee insurance, audit, and regulatory compliance processes. Makes recommendations to implement a disaster Recovery Plan.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to ensure a high level of performance and engagement. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key liaison to the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, auditors, and external stakeholders. Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Operational Support: Collaborate with the executive team and other senior leaders to align financial management with operational strategies. Oversee and provide for financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making in areas such as program and service development, expansion, and resource allocation.
The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in finance or related field and/or a person who is a Certified Public Accountant.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role with proven experience in strategic financial planning and execution, including supervisory responsibility, with 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
- In-depth knowledge of nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong focus on innovation and change management.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in gift reporting and accounting and revenue optimization in a nonprofit context is highly desirable.
