Job Summary
The Instructor is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the annual education plan for the staff and providers of assigned department(s). The Instructor is responsible for scheduling classes and resources (including instructors), manage equipment/supplies, use tracking and reporting systems to ensures that staff maintains necessary certifications / in-services and provide ongoing program reporting. Develops and utilizes appropriate evaluation systems to determine effectiveness of practice. Collaborates with leadership and management team to assess learning needs and in the development and revision of departmental policies and procedures and standards of care. Plans and implements educational activities to meet identified learning needs, utilizing adult education principles. Facilitates compliance with unit and department mandatory educational requirements.
Essential Functions
- Manage day-to-day operations of certification program(s), including equipment and supplies
- Teach certification classes
- Perform duties of instructor trainer as required by the certifying bodies.
- Assist CSE manager with budgeting and purchasing of training related equipment and supplies.
- Assist CSE manager in recruiting, interviewing and hiring of other instructors.
- Maintain system for obtaining certification cards, documenting and reporting education.
- Complete program reporting as requested by CSC manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- 1-2 years Previous clinical instructor/teaching experience required

- Demonstrated ability to use effective communication with physicians, staff members, patients and families.

Licenses and Certifications
- Health Services\ACLS required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
