Position Summary
The Kitchen Staff Partner will work in various areas of kitchen from prepping of food, cleaning of kitchens and storage areas, inventory or dry and freezer goods, trash removal, order pickup from food bank and loading and unloading of delivery trucks, both for shelters and deliveries as assigned.
Some of the duties include:
- May assist Steward or Driver for loading and delivery of all food and supplies with accuracy to various sites and unloading and return with all carts and equipment to Central Kitchen/Off Site Cafe (CK) in a timely manner.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of deliveries utilizing a pallet jack
- Assist with inventory of dry goods
- Prep assigned foods from Kitchen/Cafe Supervisor in timely and proper fashion
- Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas
- Assists with the monitoring of inventory utilizing the FIFO method
- Storing ingredients according to prescribed food safety regulations, alert supervisor to low levels or food nearing end of life
- Assist with cleanliness all work areas, this includes sweeping, mopping and sanitizing of areas
- Reporting all damage or faulty equipment to kitchen supervisor
- Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct
- Actively participates in quality improvement activities of the program/agency
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent; culinary or hospitality industry training/experience, preferred. Familiarity with commercial kitchen operation and equipment, thorough knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. A valid Ohio Drivers license and proof of insurance is required.
