Summary:
The Lifestyle Enrichment Guide helps to plan and implement activities that provide opportunities that support the domains of wellness including social, intellectual, physical and spiritual, supporting the pursuit of personal interests that enrich the lives of the residents; The Lifestyle Enrichment Guide works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment that supports healthy aging
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Works collaboratively with the team in the pl a nnin g , d e v e lopm e nt, o r g a ni z in g , i mpl e m e nting, a nd e v a lu a t ion of eac h re sid e nt ’ s lifestyle enrichment pursuits
2. Obs er v e s r e sid e nt a tt e n d a n ce , mood, b e h a vior a n d d e g re e o f involv e m e nt so th a t ac tiviti e s supporting lifestyle enrichment a nd e a c h re sid e nt ’ s indi v idu a l p r og re ss are e v a lu a t e d to fully support individual needs as well as further development of Lifestyle Enrichment program
3. P re p are s r ooms/ area s f o r lifestyle enrichment p r o g r a ms, gathers all necessary supplies, t ra nspo r ts re sid e nts to a nd fr om ac tivi t y p r o g ra ms a nd c l e a ns up r ooms/ ar e a s af t e r ac tivi t y p r o g ra ms
4. R e sponds to re sid e nts b a s e d on th e ir individu a l a c tivi t y l e v e l a nd int e r e sts, e nsu r ing t h e re sid e nt ’ s involv e m e nt is a ref l ec tion of th e ir ind i vidu a l d e si re s

If properly licensed, may serve as a back-up for the community Chauffeurs and transport residents offsite in a vehicle they are licensed to drive (DOT certification and a Class C, A, or B driver’s license if transporting 16 or more passengers including the driver; Class D Illinois or Class E Missouri driver’s license if transporting 15 or fewer passengers including the driver)
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Prior experience in a lifestyle enrichment / activity role preferable
Must be CPR certified
Demonstrates a high level of customer service and values person-centered care
Enjoyment of creativity and interpersonal interaction through one-on-one and group activities
Desire to be part of a team
Proficient computer skills
High school graduate or GED
Active driver’s license preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee is constantly required to use hands to finger, handle and feel and talk or hear.
The employee helps with moving residents in wheelchairs, setting up tables and chairs and other supplies and equipment used for activities.
Employee lifts up to 40 pounds
Employee uses up to 56.6 pounds of force to push/pull residents in wheelchairs weighing up to 350 pounds; The force required to push/pull this same 350-pound resident increases to 94 pounds if the work environment contains unavoidable ramps
The work environment is well-lighted and ventilated and has its own temperature control system (air conditioning and heat); Employees may be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the Aids and Hepatitis B viruses; Employees may be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc. Employees may work beyond normal working hours when necessary, including evenings and weekends.
