Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs indirect care for residents by assisting with orienting them to Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) upon admission and to the department when transfers occur.
- Observes safety rules to protect residents from injury, abuse, and promotes the highest level of quality care for each resident.
- Communicates and interacts effectively with the residents, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely manner.
- Maintains a safe, neat, and clean environment by cleaning resident's drawers, closets, storage areas, and utility rooms.
- Delivers mail and packages to residents.
- Answers residents' call bells in a timely manner and conveys their needs to a licensed nurse or certified nursing assistant within the scope of their responsibilities.
- Practices careful, efficient, and non-wasteful use of supplies, linen, and equipment.
- Assists to transport residents via wheelchair to activities, therapy, etc., as required.
- Makes unoccupied beds and distributes linens to ensure residents have a comfortable living environment.
- Handles soiled linen and maintains cleanliness throughout the facility.
- May be assigned to clean, disinfect, and store bed pans, bedside commodes, urinals, and other supplies.
- Runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone calls to provide assistance and support.
- Assists in maintaining residents' living areas and personal clothing, promoting dignity and independence.
- Assists in servicing and picking up resident meal trays, monitors residents during mealtime, and assists certified nursing assistants in passing snacks and nourishment as requested.
- Passes ice and water to residents to ensure they stay hydrated and comfortable.
- Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels to prevent shortages.
- Participates in resident activities, fostering socialization and engagement among residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department, as well as with other units and departments, to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested or according to an established schedule.
- Compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
- Provides excellent customer service by interacting and responding to needs/requests/issues of employees, families, contractors, colleague agencies, volunteers, visitors, and the general public.
- Maintains awareness of all services offered by LSS and takes appropriate action to actively promote, support, and communicate them to prospective clients, residents, and families.
- Participates in meetings and on task forces, committees, etc., as assigned.
