Job Description
Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking an experienced Disabilities Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Child Health and Safety Manager to plan, coordinate, and monitor compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Florida licensing laws.
Responsibilities
- Assist with completion of child health requirements and other required screenings and assessments
- Implement training for education staff and parents on disabilities-related topics
- Participate in Quality Assurance efforts to ensure high-quality services
- Work with Family & Community Engagement Specialists to promote parental engagement and encourage participation in medical, dental, and other screenings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Special Education, ESE, or a related field
- At least two years of experience working in an ESE/School District, Early Head Start, Head Start, or social services environment serving culturally diverse low-income children and families
- Ability to identify special needs children and provide guidance to families and staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area
