Job Summary
The Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting and strengthening individuals, families, and communities. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating activities within an assigned LSS program to ensure that program goals and objectives are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and develop program activities, or provide input into program development.
- Coordinate activities involving program personnel and volunteers.
- Promote and communicate program activities to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in setting, monitoring, and evaluating program goals and outcomes.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus 1-2 years of experience in a related human services field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Be able to complete orientation training according to agency program standards.
- Must successfully complete all agency background checks.
- Requires valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one and approved driver status.
Communication & Leadership
- Regular interaction with clients, staff, and the general public.
- Ability to train, support, and manage staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Strong public speaking skills, with the ability to present to both small and large audiences.
- Must demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse needs.
- Expected to project a caring, professional, and supportive demeanor in all interactions.
Decision-Making & Problem-Solving
- Work independently with moderate supervision based on position level.
- Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills in carrying out tasks.
- Capable of prioritizing and managing varied responsibilities effectively.
- Must know when to seek guidance or additional support.
Additional Information
- Supervisory Responsibilities: May oversee volunteers and/or interns.
- Confidentiality: Position involves access to sensitive information, requiring discretion and professionalism.
- Work Environment: Regional travel may be required.
- Financial Responsibility: Expected to operate within budgeted guidelines.
