Food Pantry Driver
Part Time | Day Shift | 20 Hours per Week

What will I do as a Food Pantry Driver with Lutheran Social Services?
- Safety and efficiently transport food and supplies to various locations as determined on the transportation schedule. Arrives and departs on time to ensure products arrive at or depart from their destination in a timely manner.
- Partners with the Distribution Center, Operations, and Volunteer Services Manager to ensure complete and accurate transportation schedules. Monitors transportation schedules on a regular basis to review and resolve any potential timing conflicts. Makes recommendations for alternative times when conflicts exist.
- Courteously reminds and informs teammates of the times product will be dropped off and picked up.
- Adheres to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Ensures that vehicles are clean and presentable both internally and externally.
- May perform minor preventative vehicle maintenance as scheduled or required. Promptly notifies the Operations Manager of any mechanical or equipment that needs to be repaired or replaced.
- Offers back up to the distribution center facility staff as needed, including assisting at distributions.
Requirements for a Food Pantry Driver with Lutheran Social Services:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience driving a straight/box truck experience is strongly preferred, or willingness to be trained.
- Valid Driver's license with driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier.
- Knowledge of the Central Ohio region preferred
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance preferred.
