Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer
Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer for our Home Office/HQ in Worthington, Ohio.

What will I do as the Chief Financial Officer with Lutheran Social Services?
- Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy, aligning with its mission and long-term goals.
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the Agency's financial operations, including but not limited to billing insurance, Medicaid and Medicare processes, grant management, and HUD low-income housing financial management. This includes leading and overseeing the budget process, its development, review and board approval, analyzing and ensuring overall financial performance against the budget.
- Serve as a key financial advisor to the CEO and the board of directors, providing strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
- Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance.
- Partners with the CEO and executive leadership team in developing the strategic plan. This includes conducting financial analysis and making recommendations regarding the impact of short- and long-term planning goals, introducing new programs and strategies, etc.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Provide leadership and oversee multiple financial audits conducted within the organization to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance. Develop and implement responses to audit recommendations and/or findings.
- Leads the organizational Risk Management function to ensure risk identification and mitigation strategies are operationalized across the organization. Conduct risk management by analyzing the organization's liabilities and investments, and by implementing policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance department team, ensuring a high level of performance and engagement.
Requirements for the Chief Financial Officer with Lutheran Social Services:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master's degree or CPA is highly preferred.
- At least 10 years of financial management experience in a senior role, preferably in a nonprofit organization with a focus on healthcare, human services, and affordable housing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nonprofit financial legislation, regulation, and best practices, including expertise in Medicaid, Medicare, HUD, LIHTC, and government grants.
- Proven track record of managing complex budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and analysis, and cash flow management.
- Experience with Financial & Accounting systems, preferably NetSuite.
- Valid Driver's License and proof of auto insurance.
