Intake Specialist
Job Purpose:
- To provide comprehensive intake services, gathering necessary information from clients seeking assistance from Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area. This includes assessing client needs, determining eligibility for programs, and connecting clients with appropriate resources and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial client interviews, gathering demographic information, presenting problem, and relevant background information.
- Assess client needs and eligibility for various programs offered by Lutheran Social Services and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed client records, documenting all interactions and services provided.
- Provide information and referrals to clients regarding available resources, both internal and external to the agency.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless service delivery and coordinated care for clients.
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Participate in regular team meetings and supervision to discuss cases, address challenges, and receive updates on program changes.
- Stay informed about community resources and maintain an updated referral database.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the intake process by identifying areas for improvement and suggesting solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the mission and goals of Lutheran Social Services.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- 1 years of experience in a customer service or intake role.
- Experience working with diverse populations,
Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Experience with data entry and record keeping.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
