Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan wants you to join our Information Technology team as a Systems Analyst!
Under the direction of the Director of IT, the Systems Analyst is responsible for maintaining, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex issues within production systems resulting from customer contacts for support requiring escalation. This individual is responsible for assisting with any application, hardware, peripheral or other situations that require Systems Analyst input. The Systems Analyst collaborates closely with the Help Desk, Developers, line-of-business analysts, Security Administrator, and Systems Administrators when issues arise to ensure they are resolved quickly and communications are being delivered to management as well as back to the Help Desk in a timely manner.
The Systems Analyst is also responsible for researching, testing, and recommending software and systems solutions that meet requirements as dictated by the Agency within project proposals and requests to be fulfilled by the Information Technology department.
The ideal candidate will have experience with IT Infrastructure including hardware, software, networks, and security. Additionally, the ability to troubleshoot program and system functions and test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems across the agency. The ideal candidate will also bring a strong analysis skillset on information processing, computation needs, and planning and designing computer systems.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, salaried role. Hours are anticipated to be primarily Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, but flexibility may be required.
Essential Duties and responsibilities:

- Assists in day-to-day operations of LSS applications, data recovery systems and performs Tier II support for server and application infrastructure
- Work closely with all LSS colleagues to understand project requirements, define technical requirements, develop system solutions and recommendations
- Assist Systems Administrators with ensuring availability of web, database, and application servers
- On-call backup for after-hours upgrade and conversion of production systems
- Provide backup to Systems Administrators that are on-call support for 24x7 uptime applications and pre-emptive support for critical 8x5 applications
- Ensures appropriate security standards are being implemented and maintained to secure LSS agency and client data
- Perform systems documentation, and reporting
- Collaborates with IT peers to resolve issues and communicate appropriately
- Contributes to application and infrastructure planning activities
- Ensures acceptable application performance; addresses issues as they arise, escalates issues outside of the Systems Analyst scope to Systems Administrators as necessary
- Monitors application age, utilization, and overall performance, provides recommendations
- Monitors remote office networks through monitoring interfaces; assists Systems Administrator to resolve any outages
- Travel to remote offices when onsite troubleshooting is required
- Participates in Disaster Recovery Planning regarding application and data recovery, application failover, etc.
- Engages appropriate Procurement, Development, and Support Services resources as required on a project by project basis
- Participates in project initiatives that arise
- Responsible for IT inventory accuracy and asset tracking
- Maintain LSS systems documentation, including Sharepoint sites created for user reference
- Understands the various programs and services provided within LSS and actively looks for opportunities to improve services through the use of technology
- Assist in the development and implementation of LSS IT policies and procedures
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend solutions that would enhance organizational productivity

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
- 3 years of application implementation and support experience; or a related combination of education and experience.
- Possess a demonstrated ability to plan work efforts and drive results.
- Requires excellent problem solving and analysis skills.
- Strong ability to set, measure, and achieve results.
- Proven organizational and planning skills. Detail oriented mindset is a must.
- Requires various skills and abilities to include leadership skills, negotiation skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to interpret cause and effect.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
The incumbent of this position must have a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to perform the essential duties of the role; a motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record per the LSS Driver Safety Procedure is required, and ability to meet LSS auto insurance requirements.

Ability to effectively present information to supervisor, leadership, senior management, project members, vendors, and other employees of the organization. Working knowledge of computers to allow employee to access computer systems and applications to complete timecards, read and respond to email, and complete required on-line training.
