Community Enrichment Manager

We’re currently seeking a dedicated Community Enrichment Manager for a Full-Time M-F, exempt position, at St. John’s Herr Estate, the Luthercare community in Columbia, PA.

WHAT YOU DO:

As a Community Enrichment Manager at St. John’s Herr Estate, you are integral part of providing a fun and fulfilling environment for our independent living and personal care residents. You’ll do this in several ways, which include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and executing on- and off-campus resident activities.
  • Overseeing the campus transportation and driver training program and directly managing the transportation staff, including orientation, performance, reviews, coaching, and other personnel tasks.
  • Replying to all resident suggestions relating to ideas for programs or activities, trips, or holiday events. Coordinating communication with residents via appropriate media channels, such as in-house TV, newsletters, flyers, calendars, etc.
  • Meeting regularly with campus resident advisory committee for activities. Seeking feedback and suggestions on potential programs, trips, and other events. Meeting with all new campus residents after their arrival on campus to orient them to campus activities and to develop a resident interest profile.
  • Managing reservation process for assigned common space areas as needed.
  • Developing, coordinating, and publishing a monthly activity calendar.
  • Serving as an in-house expert on the use of audio/visual technology and coordinating training for use of this technology with residents & team members as appropriate.
  • Coordinating the orientation, training, and activity of campus volunteers.

ABOUT ST. JOHN’S HERR ESTATE: 

At St. John’s Herr Estate, located at 200 Luther Lane in Columbia, older adults enjoy a healthy, active retirement while living in our maintenance-free independent living cottages and apartments, with resort-style amenities and a full range of services. St. John’s Herr Estate also features on-site Personal Care for residents who need a little help and support to remain living as independently as possible. The community is part of Luthercare, which is a not-for-profit, faith-based, and mission-driven organization based in Lititz, Pa. St. John’s Herr Estate residents have access to Luthercare’s network of services through its full continuum of care.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in a related discipline, or a combination of education and experience is required for this position
  • Certification as First Aid/CPR/AED instructor (SJHE Campus).

ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work with computer programs to develop schedules, newsletters, articles, calendars, and other communications, as necessary.
  • Friendly, people-oriented personality. Must enjoy facilitating programming for seniors.
  • Interest in historical, social, performance arts and recreational events within the local community.
  • Ability to learn/work with audio visual technology components related to activities, programs, and events.

EXPOSURE TO HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS:

  • Exposure to blood and body fluids is seldom.
  • Exposure to hazardous gas/chemical fumes is occasional.

PREFERRED JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES/EDUCATION: 

  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and ability to operate a small van for resident transport.
  • Ability to routinely adjust schedule to on-going events and programming.
  • Two (2) years of activity/recreational planning experience.
  • Knowledge regarding housekeeping/custodial practices & SDS chemical use & storage practices

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
