Responsibilities
- Enhance our operational flexibility and profitability through the creation and execution of a strategic commodity plan
- Work collaboratively to build a world class supply chain, improve delivery rates to customers, and reduce risk through the execution of supply strategies
- Select, manage and develop our key electronic device suppliers
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure the commodity management strategy is aligned with their short-term and long-term needs for product development.
- Develop and implement cost reduction and capacity strategies through value analysis, inventory management, and optimization
- Take ownership of propagating Lutron’s supplier culture globally
- Develop executive-level supplier relationships
- Continuously benchmark suppliers to ensure best-in-class commodity management
- Solve emerging supply chain problems, such as logistical challenges, material supply availability and vendor capability
- Ensure suppliers are meeting our expectations of service level performance
- Help new product teams develop relationships with new and existing suppliers to match product needs with supplier capabilities and new technologies
- Work with business teams to ensure proper forecasting of components and matching vendor supply
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related
- Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all degrees earned
- 10 or more years of industry experience in commodity management or the electronic components industry; at least 3 years’ experience in commodity management
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time, sometimes with little or no notice
