Job description
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing techno-commercial projects from concept to completion. This role requires strong mechanical engineering knowledge combined with project management skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions while maintaining a focus on commercial viability and operational excellence.

Manage technical projects through all phases including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing
Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for approval
Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure project deliverables are met
Perform technical analyses and feasibility studies for new equipment and processes
Create detailed engineering specifications and technical documentation
Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed
Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to leadership
Ensure projects comply with engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements
Analyze project data to identify opportunities for process improvements
Support procurement activities including vendor selection and contract negotiations
Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment
Implement OSHA standards in work culture to achieve zero recordable injury at all times
Inspect facilities and maintain clean and safe work environment at all times

Required Competencies:
Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in engineering calculations, analysis, and problem-solving
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and equipment
Experience in budget management and cost control for technical projects
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Proficient in CAD software and MS Office suite
Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail
Demonstrated leadership ability and team collaboration skills
Self-starter yet able to follow instructions as directed
Able to listen effectively and get clarification
Able to read and interpret written information
Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position
Able to use equipment and materials properly at all times

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
5-6 years of experience in techno-commercial projects
Experience in industrial manufacturing environment preferred
Project management certification (PMP, CAPM) is a plus
Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements
Experience with ERP systems and project management software
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead technical projects from concept to completion
