Job Duties for Poultry Farm Operations Associate:
- Monitor the health and well-being of poultry, including regular inspections for signs of illness, injury, or distress, and trimming beaks as needed
- Breed birds and produce fertilized SPF eggs while performing tasks related to bird reproduction and egg selection and sorting
- Collect chicken eggs and ensure proper feeding and water supply according to established schedules and nutritional requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in poultry housing areas and equipment, ensuring proper ventilation, temperature, and lighting
- Operate and maintain farm equipment, such as feed mixers and incubators, while utilizing hand tools and power tools for repair and maintenance
- Perform animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, and monitoring animal health, while handling animals with care
- Keep detailed records on all aspects related to animal health and maintain excellent documentation practices for biosecurity and animal care duties, as well as documentation for finished products and waste monitoring
- Consistently execute all biosecurity, maintenance, sanitization, and fumigation protocols in line with company training and practices
- Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
- Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications for Poultry Farm Operations Associate:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in is preferred
- Previous farm experience preferred
- Veterinary Technician Certification is preferred
- **Must not have chickens or birds as pets – to prevent spread of disease**
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
- Ability to stand for duration of shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
