What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Assistant Teacher position at Luv-N-Care Childcare Center?
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate assistant teacher for our preschool classroom. This classroom is aged 3-4 years of age. Each of our classroom is staffed with a lead teacher and assistant teacher who work with the rest of our faculty to create a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment for our children. Teachers should have a positive attitude, be energetic about their teaching subjects, and share a passion for learning!
Starting pay is $18.00 or more depending on experience
Shift is 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
Qualifications:
- US work authorization (Required)
- High School Diplomia or GED (Required)
- Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds (Required)
- Must be 18 or older (Required)
- 1 year Early Childhood Education (Preferred)
- 1 year Childcare Experience (Preferred)
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
Our assistant teachers are responsible for:
Assist lead teachers in constructing their classroom's lesson plan, utilizing additional resources to include various enrichment programs, communicating professionally with families and co-workers, and working as a team. You will also be responsible for the following:
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
- Advance children's physical and intellectual competence through quality teacher-created lesson planning utilizing gathered assessment data.
- Support each child's social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.
- Establish positive and effective family relations through professional communication.
- Ensure an effective program that is responsive to children's needs.
- Proficient with interpersonal communication between children, peers, and parents.
- Must maintain a professional commitment to the Luv-N-Care philosophy.
- Applicants should love teaching, working with children, and have a desire to learn and grow within the early childhood education field.
Applicants Must Have or Be Willing to Obtain:
- A Portable Background Check (through Washington MERIT)
- Negative TB Test
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Blood Borne Pathogens Training
- Washington State Food Handlers
- Proof of MMR immunization

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
