- Assists in addressing customer concerns/requirements relating to product development issues, drawing problems, and product complaints including customer visits.
- Assists in resolving process related customer complaints (CCR’s), product development issues, and drawing problems.
- Performs process improvement project work to develop new production processes and accomplish improvements in machine productivity.
- Seeks out potential problems and resolve to prevent future quality issues through machine readiness evaluations, spot check audits and the review of system controls and general observation.
- Manages process, methods and systems in accordance with assigned scope of work.
- Assists in the set-up of new production equipment, the modification of existing production equipment and situational system update of item notes.
- Inspects drawn wire product for surface quality and compliance with customer specifications.
- Performs production machine related troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Assists in operator quality training and the development of troubleshooting/resolution guides.
- As needed, attends GEMBA walks related to current projects or work groups of concern
- As needed, assists Supervision and Process Engineers with maintenance and designations associated with the MRB area.
- Provides support for Luvata Appleton initiatives.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
- Requires 2 years of related experience in process improvement procedures.
- Ability to operate a variety of testing equipment such as a micrometer, microscope, grinder/polisher, and wire or bolt cutters.
- Experience in Microsoft Office including Powerpoint, Word and Excel.
- Requires good oral communication skills to discuss process issues with production employees and management.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work within production area. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste and/or smell.
- The employee is required to wear safety glasses, metatarsal guarded steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and hard hat while working in production areas.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and in proximity to fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in non-weather related wet, humid conditions, non-weather related extreme heat, and in proximity to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and may be loud when working in proximity to production equipment.
