Position Overview:
The Metal Work Technician is responsible for preparing and modifying aluminum components for production projects in coordination with the Engineering, Quality Control (QC), and Production Management. This position requires precision, a solid understanding of measurements and mathematics, and adherence to all safety protocols, including OSHA and company PPE standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform metal fabrication tasks including punching, cutting, and prepping aluminum for production.
- Read and interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and instructions to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to understand project needs and modifications.
- Coordinate with the QC department to ensure parts meet quality and tolerance standards.
- Work closely with the Production Lead Supervisor to prioritize and complete daily tasks.
- Use various metalworking tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Measure and mark materials for cutting and assembly using mathematical and measurement skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company PPE policies at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in metalwork or manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings and work orders.
- Proficient in using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Must comply with OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE at all times.
Work Environment:
- This position operates in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
- Exposure to loud noises, metal dust, and machinery.
- Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
