Entry Level Fiber Optic Splicer

```Duties```
- Perform splicing and termination for telecommunication and network infrastructure projects
- Climb ladders to access work areas (this is only for customer premises, NO AEIRAL WORK CURRENTLY)
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic cable systems
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment

-maintain equipment, including generator, truck, and splice trailer

```Qualifications```
- Previous experience as a splicer or in a related field would be great but not needed

- must have a flexible schedule and be able to accomadate the needs of our clients

- must be able to show up on time and ready to work

- must have good communication skills

- must be presentable and professional minded

-must be able to work a week of on-call once every 3 to 4 weeks

-must be extremely detail oriented - this is not a construction job! Very technical!

-must be able to drive a truck and tandom axle trailer daily

-must have valid drivers license with good record

We are a small fiber optic splicing contractor. We work mostly the MS Gulf coast and lower AL. There are times we spend the majority of the week in AL doing jobs over there. We try to stay around Hattiesburg and come home at night as much as possible. This company is family oriented and will work around your needs to be home as long as they are reasonable. We are off most weekends and if the schedule allows we will take a friday off if you want. We all help each other to acheive our business and personal goals. We have more work than our current employees can handle and would like to select an eager, ambitious person to come learn and integrate with us. We will hands on train for a couple of months to bring you up to speed. We will provide all the splice equipment. If you have a pickup truck and want to use it for work, I provide all maintanence and fuel if you choose to do that. We offer a 401k and health insurance through BCBS (the best plan available). . The pay advertised is for entry level. All of our current splicers were promoted quickly and continue to increase their income. Our company believes in merit based promotion. You will be rewarded for your working knowledge and responsibility you aqcuire. There will be a chain of command style support system that can provide advice and training at any time. The individual we are looking for is someone who is a self-starter. They do not need to be told what to do. They can anticipate the next move and execute. This person needs to be technically inclined. We work in all kinds of weather, but have a heated/air conditioned splice lab where we spend most of our time. You will have to drive and accurately back a tandem axle 6x12 trailer on a daily basis.
