Division Sales Manager - (NJ/MD)

The primary task of the Division Manager is to achieve the budgeted NSV and budgeted profit within the brand standards. Fundamentally, the goal is to “drive forward” the Luxco case and profit volume within this territory. This consists of effective and timely implementation of distribution programs, effective distributor management, establishing lasting relationships with the State Agencies, establishing relationships with key chain account decision makers, implementing National Account authorizations, results producing programming and effective leadership of your distributor sales teams. This position reports to the Business Unit Manager.

Sales

  • Engage and manage Sales Manager calls with tasks including:
    Develop & review current shipment and depletion performance vs. last year vs. budget.
  • Review current account sold, opportunity index accounts vs. target list and prior year account sold. Develop and implement plans to retrieve or replace accounts lost.
  • Development & review of sales incentives results and effectiveness.
  • Luxco pricing – maximize every opportunity to improve the Return on Investment. Consistently monitor and manage Luxco distributor margins within the guidelines of the brand standard.
  • Discuss and implement plans going forward that will correct and/or strengthen distribution, displays, ads and promotional opportunities in the market.
  •  Focus programming on specific sales reps, accounts, sizes, on or off premise. Search for effective tools to reach the sales rep to achieve brand confidence.
  • Review competitive activity including pricing with the distributor sales management. What types of programs or pricing are working on our competitive target brands? Supplier activity and manpower changes.
  • Ensure adequate Point-of-sale is available and used effectively in the market.
  • Implement marketing promotion campaigns with key accounts in conjunction with the distributors. Make independent calls on key accounts.
  • Develop lasting relationships with key chain accounts decision makers, review activity and implement Luxco key account programming.

National Accounts

  • Purpose is to provide pricing as requested, ensure proper inventory levels are available to support authorizations, assist as the local contact as needed/requested.
  • Work with distributor Chain Account key personal to build meaningful relationships with assigned chain decision makers.

Business Review

  • Outline performance year to date versus goal.
  • Present plans going forward that will correct or strengthen opportunities in the market. New distribution, sales incentives, on/off promotions, new distributions, price increases / decreases.
  • Discuss and question competitive activity, what programs or pricing are working on our competitive target brands. Supplier activity and manpower changes.

Analyze & Develop Accounts

  • Utilize existing account level relationships to promote Luxco priority brands. Expectations are new distribution, ad’s, floor stackings, tasting, drink features, menu list, events, and promotions.
  • Develop new account level relationships to promote Luxco priority brands. Expectations are new distribution, ad’s, floor stackings, tasting, drink features, menu list, promotions.
  • Identify “influencer” and “validator” accounts both on and off. Execute programs with these accounts to build Luxco credibility.
  • Validate current pricing strategies and discount based on sales reps’ feedback, account level feedback and competitive activity.
  • Consistently call on and present programs to strengthen Luxco’s relationship with key accounts.
  • Develop and review key account activity and Luxco key account programming results. 

Administrative

  • Sales data platform is Whiteboard. (A custom program for Luxco Sales Team) Division Manager is responsible for utilizing this data to manage against opportunity.
  • Take leadership role in communicating with executives, customer service and support staff.
  • Manage point-of sale, expense, and rebate budgets all within budgeted guidelines.
  • Meet all Luxco administrative deadlines. This includes expenses reports, field allocation request, marketing request and competitive market information request. 

What do you need to bring to the table?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in place of degree. 
  • Must reside in MD or preferably NJ
  • Up to 40% travel depending on resident state
  • 5 years of Sales Experience in Wine & Liquor Industry.
  • Computer skills, communication skills (oral and written), critical and analytical thinking.
