Job description
We are seeking an experienced Activities Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in social work and experience working with seniors. This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating activities for our residents to promote socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation.
Duties:
- Plan, organize, and implement daily activities for residents
- Manage the activity calendar and ensure that all activities are appropriately staffed
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that residents' needs are met
- Provide counseling to residents on aging issues and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to provide additional resources for residents
- Manage the budget for the activities department
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
Requirements:
- Experience working with seniors in a long-term care setting
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of aging issues and ability to provide counseling on ADLs
