SUMMARY:
A Manufacturing Team Member TRIM supports production by working on a variety of pieces of equipment including but, not limited to; hot forming press, Forklift, Bandsaw, Grit Blaster, Plasma Cutter, Clean Line, Tool Prepping, Shear Operation or a 5-axis machine. This position performs various processes to Super plastically formed (SPF) metal component to include, but are not limited to, surface finishing, trimming, assembly, correction, touch-up polish, touch-up paint and inspection. Utilizing a variety of inspection equipment including, but not limited to; height gages, ball-micrometer, calipers, go/no go gauges, ultrasound, countersink gages, calipers, micrometer, and tong caliper verifying work meets customer requirements. This position also performs Shipping & Receiving tasks ensuring positive and timely Customer Service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare material for SPF forming including, but not limited to, pulling designated material, shearing material to size and preparing, loading, and unloading tools for use in forming of aluminum, titanium or magnesium parts.
- Safe operation of hot forming press.
- Prepare formed parts for the next process, including but not limited to; Plasma cutting, clean line and trimming.
- Utilize a variety of hand and stationary tools to hand finish precision formed aluminum sheet metal components.
- Sanders (belt and orbital), drills (stationary and pneumatic), and any other tools required for the process.
- Polishing experience required:
- Utilizing a stand-up bench buffer
- Utilizing a handheld polishing buffer
- Visually inspect for pin holes/pitting/scratches to remove if needed during buffing.
- Inspecting thickness of part to make sure you don’t polish below thickness requirement.
- Utilizing polishing buffing cream
