At Luxium Solutions, LLC, we're seeking a skilled Optical Fabrication Engineer to join our team. As an essential member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of processes for producing high-quality precision optics.
About the Role:
As an Optical Fabrication Engineer, you will work closely with our cross-functional teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex optical components and assemblies. Your expertise in optical fabrication, machining, and quality control will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of precision and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
- Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Design and create fixtures and tools to improve throughput and yields
- Generate prints, work orders, and other related documentation
- Work with QA to remediate product returns and integrate preventative actions into existing processes
- Provide hands-on technical support to all manufacturing departments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Optical, Mechanical, or Materials Science) or related field
- At least 10 years of direct experience with optical component manufacturing
- 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with optical inspection techniques and equipment
- Knowledge of optical materials and applications across the wavelength spectrum
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and ERP systems
- Experience with Zemax and/or SolidWorks a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fundamental understanding of geometric optics
- Working knowledge of machining operations
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Salary Range:
$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
