Assistant Director of Plant Operations - Nursing Homes
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Plant Operations to support our Regional Director of Plant Operations in overseeing the maintenance, upkeep, and regulatory compliance of our nursing homes in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will ensure our facilities provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
1. Support the Regional Director of Plant Operations in developing and implementing facility operations strategies.
2. Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and repairs of nursing home facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and construction projects.
3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS, OSHA, and life safety codes.
4. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
5. Manage and supervise maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
6. Collaborate with facility administrators to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and manage budgets.
7. Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and address potential issues.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
9. Participate in emergency preparedness and response efforts.
10. Analyze and report on facility operations metrics, including energy consumption, water usage, and maintenance costs.
11. Assist in developing and implementing sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field.
2. 3 years of experience in plant operations, facilities management, or maintenance, preferably in healthcare or nursing home environments.
3. Strong knowledge of building codes, life safety codes, and regulatory requirements.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
7. Valid driver's license (if travel between facilities is required).
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with energy management systems and sustainability initiatives.
2. Certification in facilities management (e.g., CFM, FMP).
3. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
4. Experience with construction projects and capital improvements.
