Job Summary
The Personal Care Aide (PCA) at Luxtrans Inc. provides hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) to clients in their homes and communities. The PCA ensures the health, safety, and well-being of clients by delivering high-quality personal care services in accordance with Luxtrans Inc. policies and Ohio Department of Aging (ODA), Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DoDD) regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Support clients with IADLs, including managing home affairs and aiding with medication self-administration.
- Perform homemaker tasks as outlined in the client’s service plan, including housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Take clients out to community activities (gym, shopping, events)
- Run essential errands for clients, such as picking up prescriptions or grocery shopping.
- Accurately document all care and services provided to clients.
- Follow the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN, ensuring all care activities align with the client’s care plan.
- Communicate any changes in the client’s condition or needs to the supervising RN or LPN promptly.
Qualifications
- Must possess one of the following: 1) Active State-Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) certification. 2) At least one year of supervised experience as a home health aide or nurse aide. 3) Completion of a 30-hour homemaker/personal care aide training program.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and make accurate reports.
- Proficiency in basic infection control, emergency procedures, and home safety practices.
- Ability to assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and safe transfer techniques.
- Competence in meal preparation, grocery shopping, and nutrition planning.
- Must adhere to Luxtrans Inc.’s policies and maintain high standards of safety and care.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, transferring clients, and standing for extended periods.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.50 per hour
