General Laborer

Job Title: General Laborer - Garden Center

Reports to: Garden Center Supervisor/Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable General Laborer to join our dynamic team at Luxury Garden Center. In this role, you will assist with a variety of tasks around the garden center, ensuring that the facility remains clean, organized, and stocked with products. This position requires physical labor, a strong work ethic, and a passion for plants and landscaping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stocking & Organizing: Assist with unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and ensuring products are properly stocked on shelves and display areas.
• Customer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by helping customers locate products, answering questions, and offering product recommendations when necessary.
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Keep the garden center clean and orderly by sweeping, mopping, and maintaining tidy work areas. Ensure that plants and products are well-maintained and presentable.
• Plant Care: Assist in watering, pruning, and maintaining the health of plants and flowers. Assist with repotting and planting as needed.
• Loading & Unloading: Help load and unload customer orders, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently.
• Equipment Handling: Operate garden equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or other tools as needed for daily tasks.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while operating equipment, handling materials, and working in the garden center.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Garden Center Supervisor or Manager to support daily operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience in a general labor or retail environment is a plus, especially in a garden center or landscaping setting.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions.
• Knowledge of basic gardening principles is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and stand for long periods.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
