Production Manager
LuxWall is focused on the product development, scaling and commercializing of innovative glass products and solutions for the built environment. LuxWall’s transparent insulation technology, Enthermal, provides a step change in energy performance by significantly reducing convective, conductive, and radiative heat gain and heat loss in buildings. Acting as a transparent thermos bottle for building, LuxWall has the potential to reduce global carbon emissions by more than 0.5 gigaton per year with mass adoption. Enthermal will forever change the way buildings are designed and constructed for the future sustainability of our plants.
The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring all equipment is in working order, procuring materials and parts necessary to keep the facility functioning. Their duties include building production schedules, monitoring production processes, and reviewing the productivity of an organization’s manufacturing equipment.
Position Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement improvements to the production process.
- Oversee production schedule; assign and oversee all projects.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance/Facilities Manager on the preventative and emergency maintenance required for operational equipment.
- Estimating costs and preparing budgets.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures relating to productivity, quality, and safety.
- Develop new policies and procedures to address identified needs and communicate with all involved employees. Continuously follow-up to ensure process control through process monitoring and communications.
- Resolve production problems such as ware defects, glass conditioning and equipment problems to maintain maxim operating and quality efficiencies and standard.
- Estimate costs and follow budgets accordingly.
- Works closely with team members in gathering information and tracking progress against approved milestones.
- Anticipates bottlenecks, clarifies project priorities, identifies risks, and escalates issues that cannot be internally resolved.
- Provides regular status reports and capacity plan updates with the team.
- Identifies the best tools and technologies to help manage workflow and optimizes their implementation and deployment.
- Leads all production efforts, mobilizes resources to reduce unscheduled downtime, establishes and adheres to all applicable procedures and policies to ensure inventory controls and accuracy are maintained.
- Ensures that staff training, processes, equipment, and tool requirements are fulfilled to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Leads improvement efforts to maximize efficiency, performance, and reduce costs without compromising quality or safety.
- Ensure compliance with all OHSA and environmental regulatory and corporate standards and develop strategies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Drives cross-training to optimize resource utilization, scheduling, and adherence to timelines.
- Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff.
- Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems and issues impacting production.
- Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
- Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team member.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or related operations experience
- 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role
- Sense of urgency
- Demonstrate LuxWall’s quality standards
- Make sound decisions that deliver excellence to our customers.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization.
Work Environment
- 100% Plant floor (PPE required)
- Requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Constant communication with employees, peers and management
- Overtime as required
- Frequent requirement of handling heavy equipment (operation)
- Frequent need to give concentrated attention to surroundings
