You'll play a key role in keeping projects on track by helping with:
- Project Scoping: Partner with the Project Manager to kick off new projects, using tools like estimates, budgets, and preliminary work order requests
- Kickoff & Planning: Help schedule project kickoff meetings and coordinate with other departments and disciplines involved in the work
- Design Phase (IFB & IFC): Work closely with engineers to track design progress, assist with material and service requisitions, and prepare work order authorization packages
- Construction Support: Take notes during weekly construction calls, manage project change requests, document RFIs and non-conformance reports
- Project Closeout: Use a closeout checklist to make sure all loose ends are tied up, documented, and shared with the right people before wrapping up the project
- Collaboration: Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and provide support to multiple Project Managers
- Tracking & Reporting: Keep tabs on work order audits and help manage and close purchase orders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- A team player mindset with a collaborative spirit
- A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
- A willingness to learn about the Utilities/Energy industry (if you’re not already experienced in it)
- Bachelor’s degree or 0–3 years of experience in project management or a related role
- Valid driver’s license
- B.S./B.A./M.S. in Business, Project Management, Engineering, Engineering/Construction Management, Communications, or a similar field
- Coursework or certifications in Project Management, Facilities, or Construction Management
- CAPM Certification
- Familiarity with project management processes and tools
- Experience with systems such as Oracle, Primavera (P6), SAP, GIS, procurement, materials management, forecasting, or engineering tools
- Prior work experience in the Utilities or Energy industries
- OSHA 10 certification
