We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR operations, employee relations, talent management, and compliance. This role is responsible for overseeing HR functions across the organization, supporting leadership in workforce planning, and ensuring a positive and productive work environment. The Senior HR Generalist will act as a trusted advisor and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution :
Act as the main point of contact for employee relations issues, including resolving conflicts, mediating disputes, and ensuring a positive workplace culture.Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning :
Lead recruitment efforts for manufacturing roles, collaborating with hiring managers to define job requirements, and managing the full-cycle hiring process.Training & Development :
Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills, performance, and career growth, with an emphasis on manufacturing-specific skills and safety standards.Compensation & Benefits Administration :
Assist in the administration of employee compensation programs, including salary planning, incentives, and benefits, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry standards.Performance Management :
Support managers in performance evaluation processes, providing guidance on performance improvement plans and career development.Compliance & Legal :
Ensure adherence to labor laws, health and safety regulations, and internal policies, maintaining a safe and compliant workplace environment.HR Policies & Procedures :
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures tailored to the manufacturing environment, ensuring consistency and fairness in HR practices.Employee Engagement & Retention :
Develop strategies to improve employee morale, increase retention, and foster a positive work environment.Reporting & HR Metrics :
Track key HR metrics and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding workforce trends, turnover, and employee satisfaction.Health & Safety Compliance :
Collaborate with safety teams to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe work environment.Onboarding & Offboarding :
Oversee the onboarding process for new hires and manage the offboarding process for departing employees, ensuring smooth transitions.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in the manufacturing sector.Strong knowledge of labor laws, OSHA regulations, and HR best practices within the manufacturing industry.Proven experience with recruitment, employee relations, and conflict resolution in a manufacturing environment.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities.Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant HR tools.PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification is a plus.Preferred Experience
Experience with unionized workforces and collective bargaining agreements.Knowledge of manufacturing operations and how HR functions align with production goals and requirements.Work Environment
Manufacturing plant or industrial setting with frequent on-site presence.Occasional travel may be required to other company locations.
