Your role
As a Technical Support Specialist at LVD Strippit in Charlotte, NC, your primary responsibility is to provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to customers and field service engineers regarding product functionality, operational controls, and spare parts availability. You will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving technical issues promptly and effectively.
Your responsibilities
- Resolve technical problems on standard, special, and CNC machine tool products and controls.
- Provide both electrical and mechanical technical advice to customers and customer service representatives.
- Maintain reference materials in an organized manner to support assigned products effectively.
- Collaborate with Engineering to address field problems related to software, hardware, and design issues.
- Stay updated on new product developments through direct contact with engineering and marketing teams.
- Conduct technical training for regional service groups and customers on new and existing equipment.
- Collect data on field failures and consult with management on complex problems or unusual situations.
- Write procedures for the repair or replacement of components.
- Promote excellent customer relations through courteous and informative communication.
- Generate service technical bulletins to update customer service representatives and other qualified parties.
- Process spare parts orders when necessary.
- Travel domestically to support service areas (up to 50%), with occasional international travel.
Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to collaborate and resolve difficult customer situations.
- Demonstrated mechanical and creative capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office environment and internal network usage.
- Experience with computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Familiarity with using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic and precision mechanical equipment.
Qualifications
- AAS Degree in a technical major, preferably in Mechanical or Electronic Technology.
- 3-5 years of experience servicing CNC punching, bending, or metal cutting laser equipment and Fanuc controls.
