What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Operations Engineer - Renewable Energy position at LVI Associates?
If you're interested in working on the owner/operator side of the renewable energy & power utility industry, this role could be for you! Our client is a US based leading independent power producer/developer that is responsible for deploying more than 50 gigawatts of power across the North American infrastructure space across utility-scale solar, natural gas and other technologies.
Part of our exciting 2025 growth plans is expanding our project delivery & execution team by looking to hire an experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in engineering operations and an enthusiasm for renewable energy.
Compensation is based on experience*
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical engineering expertise to all things equipment, protection & control, and operations related.
- Support a smaller existing team across the US that's responsible for leading the engineering & operations of power generation plants.
- Support project design, plant operations & engineering efforts and equipment.
- Lead technical discussions & analysis around new technology.
- Provide recommendations on all things power plant equipment, root cause analysis, system protection/relay and power plant operations related.
- Work closely with leadership on ways to continue positioning the transition to lower carbon emissions and commitment to clean technology.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the power generation/renewable energy or transmission & substation sector.
- Previous renewable energy a plus.
- Background in system protection, root cause analysis, MV/HV equipment and/or troubleshooting and technical specifications.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (4 year degree).
*All candidates must be based in the US with minimum 3-4 years of US experience, candidates who are based out of the country will not be considered.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
