Transmission Planning Project Manager

Lead a wide range of transmission planning and operational studies, including power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, and congestion management.
Oversee projects for investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, cooperatives, and independent transmission providers.
Serve as both project manager and technical expert - managing scope, budget, schedule, and deliverables while guiding a multidisciplinary team.
Build and nurture client relationships, lead proposal efforts, and identify new opportunities to grow business.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (NERC, FERC, ISO/RTO rules) while translating complex findings into clear, actionable insights for clients.
Mentor and train junior staff, promote continuous learning, and lead technical workshops and discussions.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred); advanced degree (MBA, MSEE, or PhD) is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience in transmission system planning, including 3 years managing engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of transmission systems, including experience with tools like PSS®E, PSLF, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, Promod, SKM, or ETAP.
Familiarity with regional markets (PJM, MISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SPP, etc.) and regulatory standards (NERC/FERC).
Proven ability to manage project teams, drive business development, and deliver exceptional results under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - you'll work closely with clients, engineers, analysts, and senior leadership.
PE License or ability to obtain it
Experience with generator interconnection studies, TPL compliance, or harmonics analysis
Ability to cross-sell services and adapt to shifting client needs
Strong business insight and financial acumen related to consulting projects
