Electronic Security Systems Technician

LVW Electronics, a Veteran-Owned Small Business established in 1974, is seeking a skilled Vindicator Certified Technician to join our team. Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Vindicator (Honeywell) Certified Technician to support, troubleshoot, and maintain Electronic Security Systems (ESS), including Vindicator Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Access Control Systems (ACS), and Vindicator Command and Control (VCC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting and repairing ESS systems, interpreting electronic schematics, and working with electronic security door hardware. This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience with Vindicator security solutions in high-security or federal environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Vindicator IDS, ACS, and VCC systems.
• Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues related to Honeywell Vindicator security solutions.
• Interpret electronic schematic drawings and system diagrams provided by manufacturers to assist in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Perform system maintenance, firmware updates, and testing to ensure operational effectiveness.
• Work with electronic security door hardware, including turnstiles, cantilever gate operators, and drop-arm operators.
• Ensure all work adheres to federal, military, and industry regulations such as DoD, NISPOM, and other security standards.
• Plan, organize, schedule, direct, report, record-keep, and maintain quality control for security system maintenance and installations.
• Provide technical support, system training, and documentation for end-users and stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with customers and maintenance managers, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Manage customer relationships independently while meeting project deadlines and performance goals.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation of system installations, repairs, and upgrades.
• Respond to service calls and provide remote or onsite support as needed.
• Assist in system design, integration, and commissioning of new Vindicator security systems.
• Ensure eligibility to access military installations and comply with security clearance requirements.

Certifications:

• Honeywell Vindicator certifications (ACS, IDS, VCC) are mandatory for this position.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing Vindicator IDS, ACS, and VCC.
• Vindicator (Honeywell) Certification is required.
• Strong working knowledge of electronic security systems (ESS), including intrusion detection, access control, and video surveillance.
• Experience working in high-security environments (DoD, federal facilities, critical infrastructure, or similar settings).
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Experience working with electronic security door hardware, with knowledge of turnstiles, cantilever gate operators, and drop-arm operators considered a plus.
• Familiarity with networking principles (TCP/IP, firewalls, VLANs, and secure communications protocols).
• Ability to program Vindicator systems efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail for troubleshooting complex security systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintenance managers using strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to manage customer relationships independently while meeting goals and deadlines.
• Eligibility to access military installations and obtain/maintain a government security clearance (if required).
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed for system support and installations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to pass a background check and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with military, government, or defense-related security installations.
• Additional certifications in Honeywell, Lenel, AMAG, C-CURE, or other security systems.
• Background in low-voltage electronics, IT networking, or cybersecurity related to physical security systems.

Pay: $20.75 - $33.00 per hour
