What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Land Surveyor position at LW Survey Company?
A Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) will possess the experience, skills, and knowledge to support survey data analysis and calculations, deed and record document analysis, QA/QC of survey plats and exhibits, communicating with project team members, and provide direct supervision of survey practices on a per project basis. This position reports directly to a Director of Survey Operations or Vice President.
This position would be involved in projects that include boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, route surveys, control surveys, record as-built surveys, and any other surveys that require a PLS certification or supervision. These projects will be associated with all markets and states, based on the candidate’s experience.
- RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively communicate on all assigned projects.
- Possess the ability to perform in all LWS market sectors and on most types of surveys
- Provide quality control checks on any type of survey data.
- Analyze differential levels, conventional data, and GPS survey data.
- Prepare point calculations and stakeout plots for survey field crews
- Maintain all files in the appropriate file structures
- Review boundary survey plats, easement plats, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, and various other survey deliverables to ensure client requirements, LWS specifications, and state statutes are met
- Must demonstrate clear commitment to delivering excellent customer service exemplified by the finished work product
- Provide guidance and assist staff members with improving skills and abilities
- Develop or improve LWS applications and specifications
- Coordinate with project managers and survey technicians
- SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proficient with Carlson and/or Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC)
- Understanding of field and office survey tasks, methods, and procedures
- Knowledge of horizontal and vertical datums, including state plane coordinates and local networks
- Ability to perform multiple projects in a fast-paced project environment
- Hold an active Professional Land Surveyor license in Indiana, additional states a plus
Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
