About the Lycée
The Lycée Français de Chicago provides its students with a rigorous bilingual education in a dynamic and welcoming multicultural community. The Position
The Lycée Français de Chicago is looking for substitute teachers to lead classes on a punctual basis from pre-K through 5th grade, including classes such as art, music, and physical education.
Requirements:
- Native or near-native English and/or French speaker
- Experience teaching in primary school, or working with primary school children
- Teaching degree preferable
- Experience as a substitute teacher a plus
- Availability at short notice helpful (when possible assignments will be given in advance)
- Organization, proactivity and initiative, kindness, patience
- Capacity to work with a team and to integrate a new class/level quickly
- Computer skills necessary
Duties:
- Follow lesson plans written by teachers follow-up with a communication to teachers after
- Supervision during transitions and recess
- Preparation of work documents possible
- Cleaning and tidying up classrooms as needed
Additional information:
- There are no benefits associated with this part-time, punctual role.
- All employees must pass a background check.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this part-time, punctual role.
- $130 for a full day of substitute teaching and $110 for a full day of substitute assistant teaching
