The Lycée International de Houston, LIH, was established in 2017 by passionate individuals from different cultural backgrounds and founders who recognized the need for a bilingual school in the Houston community. Their goal was to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in an ever-growing multicultural global society. As the sole accredited 18-month through 12th-grade bilingual school in Houston, the Lycée International de Houston offers a unique dual-language immersion program in both French and English. Position:

Lycée International de Houston is seeking Mathematics Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year. Lycée International de Houston is looking for a passionate and dynamic educator who specializes in IB (International Baccalaureate) and/or AP (Advanced Placement) courses. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mathematics instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) curriculum, as well as the ability to prepare students for rigorous IB and AP exams. Minimum Requirements

• Master’s Degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience in middle or high school mathematics.
• Experience teaching IB Mathematics (SL/HL) and/or AP Mathematics courses (e.g., Calculus AB/BC, Statistics).
• Strong understanding of the TEKS curriculum for mathematics.
• Familiarity with integrating technology into the classroom, including graphing calculators, online platforms, and educational software.
• Experience teaching children, particularly in an independent, private, college preparatory school setting.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Positivity, open-mindedness, and adaptability to a multicultural environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Legal work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Teach middle and high school mathematics courses, including advanced-level IB and/or AP classes, ensuring alignment with TEKS standards.
• Prepare students for success in IB and AP exams by providing a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and problem-solving techniques.
• Develop and implement engaging, rigorous lesson plans that incorporate inquiry-based learning and real-world applications.
• Differentiate instructions to meet the needs of all learners, including those with diverse academic abilities and EAL students.
• Integrate technology into instruction, using tools such as graphing calculators, educational apps, and online resources to enhance student learning.
• Assess and evaluate student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
• Communicate student progress and performance with students, parents, and guardians in a professional and timely manner.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, design interdisciplinary projects, and support school-wide initiatives.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in mathematics education, including IB and AP program updates, and pursue professional development opportunities.
• Participate in school events and activities, including open houses, parent-teacher conferences, math fairs, and exhibitions.
• Take on additional responsibilities, such as carpool duty, lunch/recess supervision, and after-school tutoring or study hall support.
• Attend and contribute to faculty, department, and subject meetings as scheduled by the Head of School.

Community and Team Engagement:

• Participate in faculty, departmental, and curriculum meetings as scheduled by the Head of School.
• Actively engage in school-wide events such as open houses, parent meetings, field trips, fairs, and festivals.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive educational experience for students.

Physical Requirements

• Physically capable of moving about the classroom to engage with students and facilitate both small and large group instruction.
• Able to monitor student behavior, discipline, and progress effectively.
• Active engagement in all academic and extracurricular duties
