Job Requirements:
Manages, plans, coordinates, and directs activities related to the launch of new products and the maintenance of current products. Works with management and production staff to review feasibility, determine and implement processes, and estimate cost effectiveness. Chooses design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement of existing designs. Acts as a point of contact between the customer and plant on urgent service matters.
Responsibilities:
• Knowledge and proficiency of CAD software.
• Understand and read blueprints.
• Conduct APQP.
• Ability to perform project management assignments.
• Understand and utilize ERP.
• Develop and implement new business.
• Knowledgeable and support of company policies, practices, products and services, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Participates in Kaizen events.
• Must be detailed oriented, systematic, analytical, diplomatic, flexible, patient, and professional.
• Utilize verbal, written instructions, drawings, diagrams, and schematics to accomplish tasks.
• Ability to interact with many levels of the organization, corporate, hourly and salaried employees, customers, and vendors.
• Compute cost estimates, design / order tooling, set up work instructions, optimize build quantities and inventory levels.
• Resolve application problems.
• Assist in design tooling prototypes for production.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to read, interpret, make recommendations concerning blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge and understanding of ISO / IATF Quality specifications.
• Ability to work with a wide range of technical, sales, and manufacturing personnel.
• Knowledge of business law, legal contracts, cash flow, and working capital.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and understanding of design and quality requirements as they relate to components and assemblies.
• Understanding and having the ability to apply the principles of lean manufacturing.
• Strong computer skills, MS Office, and use of MRP/ERP systems.
Other:
• Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules.
• Must be able to work extended hours when required.
• All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering Degree.
• 3 years of experience in program management and/or cost estimating of high volume parts processing.
• Tooling experience a plus.
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
• Steel parts manufacturing.
• Die cutting.
• Estimation of cost for steel tooling.
• Knowledge of Program Management and Estimating best practices.
• Knowledge of local and national steel tooling resources.
• Knowledge of ruled die tooling resources.
• Knowledge of steel part manufacturing.
• Knowledge of industrial die cutting.
