Responsibilities:
- Every Alkegen employee is expected to conduct him/herself in a professional manner, acting respectfully, as well as responsibly in all matters related to this job function. - Serve as an active participant in and support safety initiatives and improvements for the facility
- Build effective relationships with all crew members and internal departments to produce a superior product
- Drive and implement positive change
- Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the following Production Department operating positions:
- Rotoformer Operator
- Backtender
- Pulper Operator
- Pulper Helper
- Chemical Mix Operator
- Quality Control Testing
- As experience and competency in this position is gained, the Production Utility may be called upon to provide relief coverage for the Shift Foreman and/or Mini Mill Technician.
- Become proficient in the operations of the wastewater treatment system including, but not limited to: water flows, equipment operation, controls, chemistry, and appropriate troubleshooting techniques.
- Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills for the manufacturing process
- Must be able to safely and competently operate mobile equipment such as fork lift, electric pallet jack, scissor lift, floor sweepers, and power washers
- Must perform confined space entry procedures as an entrant and an attendant during the course of duty
- Ensure that proper housekeeping is maintained in the work areas
- Must be able to work overtime
- Must be able to accommodate work on any shift
- Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules
- Must be able to work extended hours when required
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Experience:
- High School diploma
- Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend written instructions
- Basic math skills
- Intermediate computer skills
Qualifications/Experience Preferred:
- Possess a sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently
- Strong leadership skills
- Professional interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency and understanding of the Lydall Oracle management system
- Proficiency and understanding of the ABB system control applications
- Must be able to work with limited direction and use independent thinking
