Lynch Landscape is seeking two dedicated professionals to join our Tree Division team: a Tree Climber Foreperson and a Tree Climber Crew Member. Both roles involve professional tree maintenance, including pruning, shaping, and tree removal, while adhering to industry safety and quality standards. These positions require advanced climbing skills, equipment proficiency, and the ability to work in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

For Both Roles:

  • Operate a bucket truck and other equipment, including loaders, stump grinders, chippers, power saws, and rigging devices.
  • Perform tree pruning, ornamental pruning, cabling, rigging, and tree removal in accordance with ANSI A300 standards.
  • Adhere to ANSI Z133 safety standards in all tree care operations.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.
  • Evaluate tree health and structural stability to plan safe climbs and maintenance.
  • Climb trees using hooks, belts, or ladders to access work areas.
  • Cut away dead or excess branches using climbing equipment or bucket trucks.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and assist in daily tasks with a focus on safety and accident prevention.
Additional Responsibilities for the Foreperson Role:

  • Oversee daily crew operations and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Assist in preparing trucks, tools, and materials needed for daily tasks.
  • Train and mentor crew members, fostering skill development and teamwork.
  • Take a leadership role in planning and executing tree maintenance projects.
  • Communicate effectively with the Tree Division Manager and customers as needed.
Qualifications:

For Both Roles:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of tree climbing experience.
  • Proven ability to operate a bucket truck and perform tree pruning and removal in various environments and levels of difficulty.
  • Working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree care operations.
  • Physical strength, agility, good balance, depth perception, and the ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
  • Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operation of tree care equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Sudbury, MA.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team or independently.
  • Willingness to work overtime and in all weather conditions year-round.
Preferred Credentials (a plus for both roles):

  • Commercial Driver’s License (Class B CDL preferred).
  • Hoisting license.
  • Pesticide license.
  • ISA/MCA certifications.
Work Environment:

  • Outdoor work 95% of the time, with exposure to fluctuating temperatures, high winds, rain, and other adverse weather conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to industrial hazards such as fumes, odors, gases, and high noise levels.
Physical Demands:

  • Regular lifting of objects weighing 20-70 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and handling.
  • Ability to maintain stamina and stability during extended outdoor tasks.
Position Type & Schedule:

  • Full-time positions.
  • Work hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with overtime required during spring and fall.
  • Weekend work may be required during peak seasons.
