POSITION SUMMARY
- To provide intervention to students based on identified deficits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides intervention services to students that are not achieving success through regular classroom instruction.
- Reading teacher 10 hours a week. Days and hours are flexible
- Provides individualized or small group instruction to children that focus on specific skill deficits.
- Implements frequent progress monitoring to determine the effectiveness of intervention services.
- Provides diagnostic services for students who have demonstrated a lack of progress with conventional intervention strategies and programs.
- Provides individualized remediation/tutorial services based upon the diagnostic assessment.
- Works with the building lead coach to support teachers and students in reading instruction.
- Supports the overall reading program in the building as directed by the building principal.
