As a Site Coordinator for the Marblehead YMCA After-School Program , you will play a key role in ensuring the care, safety, and well-being of elementary-aged children through on-site supervision, staff management, and effective communication. You will oversee a daily schedule of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
What You’ll Do :
Provide supportive coaching and guidance to staff and students.
Ensure compliance with licensed childcare standards.
Handle administrative tasks and maintain the site’s space and resources.
Build strong relationships with parents and school district partners.
This role offers a diverse and rewarding experience throughout the year. During the school year, you’ll also take the lead in sports programming for our Early Learning Center (ELC). Specifically, the Village School Site Coordinator position includes running the ELC Sports Enrichment block. Every Thursday morning, you’ll work with four to five classes of early learning children ages 3 to 5, introducing them to the fundamentals of movement and teamwork. You will be responsible for developing an age-appropriate sports curriculum under the guidance of Sarah Martinez and Connor. This includes :
Designing structured 30-minute enrichment classes.
Using visual schedules and implementing drills and skills tailored to the age group.
Managing the class flow and ensuring engagement during the activities.
While teachers will remain in the gym to supervise, the Site Coordinator is responsible for class management and ensuring a smooth and fun experience for all participants. This enrichment program is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in coaching or sports management, providing valuable experience and a foot in the door with the YMCA Sports Department.
During the summer, you’ll step into a leadership role in our day camp programming, creating meaningful and unforgettable experiences for campers.
