What are the responsibilities and job description for the JV Head Coach - Girls Volleyball position at Lyndon Institute?
Lyndon Institute is seeking to hire a Head Coach for our JV Girls Volleyball team for the upcoming 2025 season.
Job Summary:
The position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Position motivates student-athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport and centers on creating positive relationships with student-athletes.
Qualifications/Duties:
1. Able to demonstrate and communicate an understanding of the fundamentals, rules, and regulations essential to building a successful program.
2. Able to demonstrate an understanding of fitness and training for the sport.
3. Able to work well and build positive relationships with the coaching staff, administration, students, parents, and the community.
4. Work in unison with the Athletic Director to establish a “WE” program.
5. Work with the Athletic Director to build a positive and accountable program that is branded with the LI culture, mission, and values.
6. Coordinates activities about practice and maintains individual and team stats per game/season.
7. Participate in all competitions and other events as assigned by the Athletic Director.
8. Be available weekdays from 3:15 pm on and on weekends as needed (depending on practice and game times).
9. Possess sound judgment and a clear understanding that athletics is an extension of the classroom. We seek strong leaders who will mentor our athletes, helping them grow into successful and responsible individuals in society.
10. Follow and uphold all LI policies and procedures and create a team atmosphere that is built around the history and culture of LI.
11. Plan and work with the Athletic Director for fundraising opportunities.
12. Create and work with the Athletic Director on summer and team camps.
Required Skills:
Must be, or become before the start of the season, a Vermont Principals Assoc. (VPA) certified coach and have completed all VPA-required certifications with NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) as well as CPR/AED certification
Desired Skills:
Recent successful coaching experience at the high school, college, or club level
