What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) position at Lyndon Institute?
Lyndon Institute is seeking to hire a full time LNA to work in conjunction with the Health and Wellness Department and Special Education Department to support individual student(s) on an IEP. This position is scheduled to work approximately 6.75 per day when school is in session.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct medical treatment, mobility assistance and self care to students with special needs as required by their individualized healthcare plan under the direct supervision of the school’s registered nurse (RN).
- Provide data and will target goal-directive services to assist students in accessing instruction in a developmentally appropriate, functional and independent manner.
- Provide daily transportation for assigned students across campus using the mini bus.
- Maintain a running log of all LNA hours worked to be reviewed/approved by the RN.
- Provide support to the health department if/when the assigned student is not present at school and performs other duties as assigned by the Dean of Specialized Instruction, Director of Health and Wellness or the Head of School.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid or eligible to receive an LNA certificate
- Valid or able to obtain a Type 2 license with School Bus Endorsement. This license must be obtained within 60 days and includes attending a school bus clinic, physical exam, a written test at the DMV, practice driving time, and a driving test.
- Must be energetic and enjoy working with children
- Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred but not required
