Our client in the Southington, CT area is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Contract Attorney to join their legal team on a contract basis. The Day-to-Day:
- Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial contracts with a focus on technology-related agreements.
- Analyze contractual risks and collaborate with internal teams to develop mitigation strategies.
- Interpret and explain contract terms to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business and legal expectations.
- Advise internal departments on contract compliance, structure, and best practices.
- Provide support for sourcing and third-party relationships, especially those involving emerging technologies like AI and cloud platforms.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- In good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in-house or at a law firm.
- Knowledge of FFIEC guidance on third-party relationships is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with SaaS, cloud computing, PaaS, IaaS, and contracts involving artificial intelligence.
- Familiarity with privacy, cybersecurity, and information security legal considerations.
- Proven ability to advise senior business leaders on risk-based legal decisions.
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of agreements.
- Prior experience supporting sourcing and vendor contract functions in a financial services or regulated industry is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across departments and build consensus.
