Our client in the Upper Marlboro, MD area is looking to hire a Warehouse Associate - Wire Cutter for their location. The ideal candidate will need to have familiarity with basic machinery operation, especially wire-cutting equipment. Responsibilities include accurately cutting, spooling, coiling, and labeling electrical wire to specific lengths based on customer orders, using specialized wire cutting machinery within a warehouse environment, with a primary focus on attention to detail and ensuring correct measurements for each wire cut; often requiring the ability to read and interpret order tickets and maintain inventory levels of wire stock.
The Day-to-Day:
- Precisely cut electrical wire to specified lengths using wire-cutting equipment, following customer order details.
- Properly spool and coil cut wire onto designated reels or spools.
- Accurately label each wire spool with relevant information such as size, gauge, and customer order number.
- Monitor wire stock levels and communicate when inventory needs replenishing.
- Read and interpret customer orders to ensure correct wire types and quantities are cut.
- Inspect cut wire for any defects or inconsistencies before packaging.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Basic math skills: Ability to accurately measure and calculate wire lengths.
- Attention to detail: High level of focus to ensure precise cutting and labeling.
- Physical ability: Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting/pulling heavy wire spools.
- Mechanical aptitude: Familiarity with basic machinery operation, especially wire-cutting equipment.
