Structural CAD Technician 1

Lynn Engineering is looking for a detail orientated individual to join our growing engineering firm. We are looking for a Structural CAD Technician to create detailed scale plans for wood, concrete, and steel construction, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data. Duties & Responsibilities

To work closely with engineering staff to ensure all work produced is of the highest quality and can be clearly and concisely used for construction.

Assists in creation and maintaining of construction specification plans created with a CAD software that can be used for construction

Provides hardcopy and electronic drawings for internal and external uses.

Reviews project scope provided by engineer or contractor based on architectural drawings and specifications.

Draw rough and detailed drawing/plans for commercial buildings, and residential structures, based on preliminary concepts and sketches.

Generate windstorm, foundation and framing plans that can easily and clearly be used for construction.

Familiarity with local building codes and permitting requirements.

Reviews and certifies drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to strict drafting and design standards.

Provides support to the field on questions or issues related to designs/drawings.

Education/Experience

2 years of experience with AutoCAD is required OR Drafting Certificate required.

Proficient in Civil3D preferred

Experience with construction is a plus.

Ability to work with Microsoft Office suite.

Strong math skills.
